About This Work
This sculpture was commissioned by the City of Broken Arrow Oklahoma to commemorate their Centennial year. It was designed to tell the history of Broken Arrow. The three figures each represent a part of that history. Broken Arrow was the early home of Creek Indians, cattle ranchers and peach farmers. It is a City of strong Christian values. From the towns first incorporation, a county fair, named “Rooster Days” was held, and is still celebrated to this day.

The adult male in the sculpture represents a cattle rancher and he is carrying a basket of peaches. The female figure holding her bible is a Creek Indian mother representing the intermarriage of the whites and Indians. The young boy holding his Rooster represents the annual “Rooster Day” fair. This monumental size sculpture is located at the corner of Main Street and Commerce in Down Town Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
