Ol Leroy - $1,650
Edition of 20 • 17" x 20" x 11"
About This Work
This is a sculpture of one of my greatest childhood hunting memories. It was my father's favorite bird dog, Ol Leroy. During quail season, Leroy would rather hunt than eat. And as a result, he was invariably skinny but had the endurance of a coyote.
When a quail is scented, a bird dog will absolutely freeze in whatever position he is in at that time. The only thing he moves is his eyes. It is a beautiful and memorable sight one must experience to appreciate.
