About This Work
The Tulsa Ballet Theater commissioned me to do a sculpture of Romeo & Juliet to honor a retiring Prima Ballerina. This bronze maquette is of Juliet in a pose of “pa de deu,” to me, one of the most graceful movements in ballet.

I plan to do more ballet sculptures in the future as I think of no other performance (or sport, for that matter) that portrays the grace, form, balance, dignity and rhythm than that of ballet. The monument of both Romeo and Juliet together is located at the entrance of the Tulsa Ballet Theater in the Brookside area of Tulsa, OK.
