About This Work
This sculpture was commissioned by an old friend who wanted me to sculpt his granddaughter at her sporting best. I struggled to make certain that the likeness of her was exact.

Much to my surprise, when the mother and granddaughter came to my studio for a review of the clay, their primary interest was directed toward the horse! I should not have been surprised as my daughter was also an equestrian and a young girl’s horse is the center and love of her life.
