My gift to the Eagle Scouts, this bronze, both the table top version and the monument, was the result of a commission from the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Tulsa, OK. The monument is located on the Eagle Plaza at their headquarters in Tulsa and has a 14-foot wing span.

My research for this project was done through observation of live eagles, primarily at the Sutton Avian Research Facility in Bartlesville, OK. The sculpture was in honor of all of the young boy scouts who have attained the honor of becoming “Eagle Scouts," thus the title, “A Step to Greater Heights."
